New DT and a new blog!

Wow! Lot's of news to share today!
Firstly I am so thrilled to announce that I have been chosen to be apart of the design team for 7 Dots studio!!! This is so hard for me to believe and I think I'm excited and nervous all at the same time.

Another obvious change is my blog!!!
The amazingly talented Anita Rodway designed this new look for me and I totally love it!!! Thank you Anita!

In other news I have a layout to share. This is another layout created using the Main kit at "A Piece of cake designs".

I have created yet another boys layout. I knew straight away when I saw this paper in the kit I just add to use it as background. I have used various strips from the papers and the vellum mixed with some old dictionary paper to create a background and then used various stamps quite randomly.

These cool scrabble type letters are also from the kit and I loved using the stickers again!!!
I added the My minds eye buttons and the exclusive flair from the kit.

These tabs were originally on the My mind's eye button sheet as banners but I cut them down and used as tabs instead :)

Thanks for popping by. I'm off on a scrappy weekend with some awesome friends so I cannot wait!

More of a Piece of cake Designs...

Hi everyone! I wanted to share with you this grungy, boyish, fun layout today using the contents from the main kit this month from "A Piece of Cake designs".

There are lots or gorgeous papers and embellishments in this month's kit that can be used for both feminine or masculine layouts. This time I have created this one!

The  kraft cardstock was my base to begin with and using lot's of different strips of the various papers I created a background for this photo of Will taken a few years ago!
To add a grungy feel I used a sewing machine to add in some messy black stitching and added a layer or some white gesso over the background using an old credit card.

Once again I loved using the film strip stickers and this time used the basic grey scrabble letters as my title.
I painted some of the cute veneer shapes to match my circular panel.
I have added some circular panels by 2 Crafty to add some dimension to my page.
As I always do I used various stamps to add interest to my layout!

Thanks for popping by, Eb x

Something old, something new, something borrowed, something BLUE!!

This month at "Scrap the Girls" the challenge is to be inspired the good old saying...

"SOMETHING OLD, SOMETHING NEW, SOMETHING BORROWED, SOMETHING BLUE"
So I decided to find one of my wedding photos and have a go at scrapping it!

It was quite ironic actually because I had printed this butterfly to use on a canvas a few months ago and every time I clean up I considered throwing it ! But each time I just added to the pie of bits and pieces on my desk and when I saw this challenge I knew straight away how I could use it!!
So the main aspect of this saying that inspired me was the BLUE part!!! LOL!

Thanks for popping by, Eb xx

Hi everyone,

This month I have been playing with the latest  A piece of cake designs Main kit.

I love the versatility of this kit as at first glance it appears quite masculine.
So I wanted to challenge myself to creating a page that had a more feminine, yet fun
and young page.

So this is my first layout to share with you ......
I have chosen a paper from the kit and used a sewing machine
to sew a swirl effect as my background
I have cut pieces from other pieces of papers in the kit to place
under my photo. I then applied some acrylic paint and
some watercolour paint to my background.
I used the paper with triangles all over it
to cut out various triangles keeping in mind my color scheme.

I also used some cut out card stock circles from my stash of card stock and added
some spotted washi tape.

I LOVED the piece of vellum with the stars all over it and used it to cut
out some circles to add to my background.
Another thing I LOVED abot this kit were the awesome black stickers!!
I have used the film strip, one of the cameras and the insta lovin title!
Totally easy and really effective!!
I tried to use the scrabble type letters on this page and it
didn't work so I used a Heidi Swapp Stamp instead
and coloured the letters in with some brush watercolour markers.
But don;t worry, I found a use for the scrabble letters on a another
layout which I will share next time!!

Thanks for looking, Eb x
